World Affairs Council of the Mid-Hudson Valley [WACMHV] is again pleased to announce the opportunity to send educators (in a 6-12 school year) on a summer study tour to Turkey. Made possible through a generous grant from the Turkish Cultural Foundation, the fellowship will allow three teachers to participate in a study tour to Turkey in the summer of 2012. The tour will include visits to historical sites, seminars, and meetings with Turkish educators. Selected applicants must attend a day-long professional development Workshop for Teachers on Turkey, hosted by WACMHV. Preference will be given to teachers who can demonstrate their commitment to education about Turkey and who specify how they will use the study tour experience to enhance understanding about Turkey in their classrooms and school districts.
